PT IAS Support Indonesia Holds Legal Insight Talk to Strengthen the Legal Foundation of Airport Business Management

04 May 26

Tangerang, 4 May 2026, PT IAS Support Indonesia, through its Legal Team, held a Legal Insight Talk under the theme “Business Judgement Rule: Protection for Directors in Business Decision-Making” at the Airport Learning Center, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang. The event was conducted in a hybrid format and attended by participants from IAS Support, its holding company, InJourney Aviation Services, InJourney Airports, and several entities within the aviation and supporting services ecosystem.

Legal Insight Talk is a legal education initiative developed by the IAS Support Legal Team as a practical, relevant, and accessible learning forum for the company’s people. The program was introduced to strengthen the company’s legal foundation, understanding of business engagements, and governance awareness in supporting its activities in facility management and airport support services across Indonesia.

As a company with an active role in the national aviation ecosystem, IAS Support delivers a range of services directly related to airport area operations, including facility management, manpower services, ICT solutions, and equipment supply and maintenance. With service support across more than 40 airports from western to eastern Indonesia, legal understanding has become essential to ensuring that every decision, partnership, and service implementation is carried out in accordance with the principles of compliance, governance, and corporate responsibility.

The event was opened by the President Director of PT IAS Support Indonesia, Muhammad Putra Pariadi, and closed by the Director of Human Capital of PT IAS Support Indonesia, Dian Kusumaningtyas. The event was also attended by representatives from InJourney Aviation Services, InJourney Airports, Angkasa Pura Suport, IAS Hospitality, IAS Property, Gapura Angkasa, all Group Heads of IAS Support, as well as Executive General Managers and General Managers from IAS Support branches across Indonesia who joined the session online.

Through this event, IAS Support reaffirmed the importance of business legal literacy for leaders and work units across the organization. The topic of Business Judgement Rule was selected due to its relevance to the company’s need to build rational, properly documented decision-making processes, free from conflicts of interest, and aligned with the principles of Good Corporate Governance.

President Director of PT IAS Support Indonesia, Muhammad Putra Pariadi, stated that strengthening legal literacy is an important part of maintaining the quality of business decision-making, particularly within airport operational environments that demand certainty, compliance, and accountability.

“As a company that supports service management within Indonesia’s airport ecosystem, every business decision must have a strong legal foundation. Understanding business engagements, governance, and risk is essential so that the company can move with agility while remaining within the compliance corridor. Through Legal Insight Talk, IAS Support aims to build a work culture that is not only compliant but also capable of making decisions in a precise, measurable, and responsible manner,” said Muhammad Putra Pariadi.

In the main session, IAS Support invited Dr. Teuku Syahrul Ansari, S.H., M.H., Managing Partner of TSA Advocates, as the keynote speaker. He is known as a business law practitioner and the author of “Membangun Sistem Business Judgment Rule pada Badan Usaha Milik Negara (Persero) dalam Hukum Ekonomi Indonesia”.

In his presentation, Dr. Teuku Syahrul Ansari explained that the Business Judgement Rule, or BJR, is an important principle in distinguishing business risk from legal violations. Business decisions always carry risks, but losses should not automatically be interpreted as legal violations. The assessment of a business decision must consider whether the decision was made through a proper, rational, responsible, and well-informed process.

BJR serves as a protective norm that releases corporate organs from personal liability for business risks, as long as the decision is made in good faith, without any conflict of interest, and based on sufficient or well-informed information. This principle operates within the framework of Good Corporate Governance and prioritizes the company’s interests.

The event also discussed several practical issues closely related to corporate management, including conflicts of interest, delegation of authority, decision documentation, the distinction between breach of contract and unlawful acts, as well as the difference between business risk and legal misconduct. During the discussion session, participants actively raised questions about the application of BJR in decision-making processes, legal risk mitigation, and the steps to take when the company faces legal issues.

Director of Human Capital of PT IAS Support Indonesia, Dian Kusumaningtyas, stated in her closing remarks that the capability development of the company’s people must include legal understanding, governance awareness, and responsibility in carrying out business processes.

“Excellent human capital means people who can work professionally, understand risk, and uphold integrity in every business process. Legal Insight Talk serves as a shared learning forum to help every IAS Support employee become better prepared to face organizational challenges with a more comprehensive understanding,” said Dian Kusumaningtyas.

As a facility management company that supports airport area services and integrated areas, IAS Support views legal literacy as part of the foundation of operation and service excellence. Strong legal understanding helps the company improve the quality of business engagements, maintain partner trust, and ensure that every service process is carried out in accordance with compliance and governance principles.

Legal Insight Talk is also aligned with IAS Support’s commitment to building a pro-business compliance culture. Through this program, the company equips its leaders and work units with greater confidence in making strategic decisions, while strengthening the awareness that legal compliance is not a business barrier, but a foundation for creating sustainable services.
Going forward, IAS Support will continue to promote internal education programs that are relevant to the needs of the business and the organization. Through cross-functional collaboration, the company is committed to developing IAS Support people who are adaptive, compliant, professional, and able to make meaningful contributions to strengthening the aviation and supporting services ecosystem in Indonesia.
